Today’s post
is brought to you by the letter I and the category of poetry
This is a
re-post. We lost Isabella October 7th,
2009.
I will never forget.
Remembering
Isabella
All is quiet now.
Most have forgotten.
Time forever moves in its endless destination
Unknown
So much time has passed
And still I cry
When shall my heart
Stop its long sigh
Hurting on the inside
Yet I hide it so well
If only I could forget
And relinquish this hell
To forget is freedom
From the aches in my heart
To remember, tortures my soul
With what should have been.
Nonstop we travel
Through life every day.
If we stop and think
The pain won't go away.
Please don't be upset
If I don't think of you everyday
It's just too hard
Getting through that way
I promise I will love you
Through the rest of my years
Daddy's little girl
Remembered with tears
She was born the day after my daughter. I'm so sorry for your loss Bushman. Know that I will always remember your daughter now. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful poem to remember her by.
Such a poignant poem. I am so sorry about your loss with Isabella and your loss of Corwin. I can't imagine your and your wife's grief.

How heart wrenching! I can't imagine what it's like to lose a child. My parents lost a child, my brother, in 2006. He was 40. It devastated my daddy. He had to be hospitalized and I was afraid I'd loss him, too. I lost a brother, but my parents lost a child. I couldn't fathom the pain nor did I want to. Beautiful words of remembrance of your Isabella!
ReplyDeleteJeff, What a powerful poem. Thanks for sharing with us. It takes a lot of courage to share this with the wold. But there is also healing that comes from it as well as the support from the blogging community.

This is sad.You have lost so much. I just have no words.
ReplyDeleteTouching and indeed, if we don't take our minds off our loss, we can become bogged down by our grief. I too lost a child, so I understand in some measure what you're going through.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. Even if you don't think of her every day, she's still in your heart.
ReplyDeleteSo sad! And such a beautiful, touching poem. Sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteLosing a child is losing part of your heart. Our children are part of us, always. Thank you for being brave enough to share it with all of us. But we do listen and we do understand.
ReplyDeleteI just know you'll see each other again.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, dear Bushman, for the pain of remembrance. You will see your children again. They are waiting.
ReplyDeleteWith hugs, Jenny
What a dear poem. There is nothing that can take away the anguish when you lose a child.
ReplyDeleteSuch a touching poem, full with raw emotion. I won't pretend to know what that kind of loss feels like, but I don't wish it upon anyone. As someone mentioned, she will always be in your heart, if not always on your mind.
ReplyDeleteJeff, I am so sorry. There are no words.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful tribute, though, and I'm certain you're keeping her beautiful spirit alive and with you always.
I am so sorry for your loss, Jeff. May her soul rest in peace. Sending you prayers and hugs !
ReplyDeleteMy grandchildren Isabella and Corwin will be in my heart eternally forever. My forever love to my son and his wife
ReplyDeleteAm so very sorry for your loss Jeff. This poem is such a beautiful tribute to your little one.
ReplyDeleteSending you & your family prayers and strength.

Jeff,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing such a painful memory with us. That is a beautiful poem for your daughter. My sister lost her son and is still going to therapy for it and it's been six years now. Losing children must be a terrible thing.
